They are seeking a Sales Manager, based in their Cambridge offices and prepared to undertake extensive UK travel.

The Sales Manager will be responsible for achieving annual sales goals, motivating the sales team and providing progress feedback to the management team against key targets and forecasts. The strategic focus will be to develop new business and drive profitable sales growth through active business planning, developing and managing key accounts, managing the sales process, driving the sales pipeline, visiting customers and negotiating and closing sales.

This is a highly challenging and unique role, requiring a diverse skill set.

Applications are sought from industry professionals who can demonstrate a proven track record of sales and performance management, creating, implementing and driving strategic sales growth plans, experience of change management, account management, P&L and strong influencing skills.

They are seeking for an individual who has exceptional people management skills, who can drive sales growth through engaging, inspiring and developing their people. You will have the commercial and technical range to lead a high performing sales team, cooperate fully with other functions in the business, and be an excellent influencer who can gain commitment internally and externally.

To be considered for this role, you will ideally be qualified to degree level (although lower level qualifications combined with experience are also welcomed) in a relevant technical subject with:

Proven experience of sales growth within a B2B environment, selling technical products and software/hardware system solutions within the industrial computing market.
Experience of selling to System Integrators and OEMs.
An appreciation of cloud based infrastructures, messaging Middleware and web2/web3 implementation.
An appreciation of industrial based computing solutions, communication systems and M2M architectures and software solution selling.
An appreciation of software architectures and considerations.
Ability to produce and deliver professional sales proposals and presentations of products and solutions to technical, commercial and director-level client contacts.
Proficient understanding of CRM techniques and experience of their effective use.
Excellent written and spoken English.
Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills, and a natural ability to work with a variety of personalities.
Strong negotiation skills
Sales management skills.
Information evaluation skills in order to develop sound judgements and decisions.
Excellent skills in planning, organising and structuring own work and that of team with the ability to mediate between competing priorities and interests.
Ability to collate information and present to the management team in a concise and effective format.
Experience in producing monthly management reports on key aspects of sales achievements and KPI performance.

Knowledge of the defence and transportation markets would be a distinct advantage.
