Our client, a blue chip business in the Oil and Gas sector is looking for a Project Accountant, for its operation in Bristol. You will take financial ownership of assigned projects and drive the business team to set and meet financial targets.
This will include:
Acting as a business partner to the project team to drive business initiatives, growth, and profitability
Controling & reconciling all costs booked to the project. Driving & challenging Project Managers to manage overall budget; ensuring appropriate authorisations have been obtained for any overspends by individual departments.
Producing monthly project financial review packs, used as tool to control upcoming expenditure and highlight commercial issues.
Managing and maintaining accurate forecasts of cost to complete for both materials and labour. Maintaining variance analysis against previous forecast to drive continuous improvement.
Setting up and maintaining the contract accounting records
Managing invoicing and debt collection for projects
Providing ad-hoc reports to management or customers where required
Working with PMs to identify cost overruns in advance and manage project risks.Involvement as required in developing estimates, forecasts and business plans
You will be a Qualified Accountant or Finalist, with demonstrable experience in financial roles and an ability anticipate, identify and resolve complex financial issues. You will also have strong oral and written communication skills and be highly PC literate. Exposure to project accounting would be a distinct advantage
